? Whizzer HE01, a gorgeous looking earphone with friendly price.

Due to the young age of the brand, you might or might not have heard of Whizzer; yet, the brand has launched other popular earphones to date.

Moreover, the brand offers several audio-related products including many True Wireless earphones (around 10 different models), a couple of Bluetooth Earphone adapters, Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth earphones and cables.

The Whizzer HE01 is built with a combination of metal and resin shells that results in a light but robust construction feel.

The resin used has a transparent color, allowing all the inner components and drivers to be easily seen.

The cable of the Whizzer HE01 has 0.78mm 2pin connectors (universally compatible with any 0.78mm interface), transparent resin ends on the 2pin connectors and robust metal construction on all the cable details such as cable tightener, bifurcation section and mini-stereo plug.

The cable itself is a 5N OFC model with a helix design and plastic finish with no rubberized materials.

The Whizzer HE01 can also be found as Whizzer Kylin A-HE01.

The Whizzer HE01 comes bundled with 3 pair of reference eartips, 3 pair of vocal eartips, a very nice hard case, 1x bi-pin cable and a cleaning brush.

The unit comes well presented in a medium-large packaging with a removable sliding cover and a book-alike side opening with a magnetic closure system.

Bass & Sub Bass

The single 10.2mm driver of the Whizzer HE01 responds with a punchy and fun bass response.

Mid bass is rich and powerful with a profile able to cover any modern and classic genre without falling short at any given time.

The lower end of the bass response shows a rolled-off tendency that will make it show a stronger punch than depth but that does not translate into a bass-anemic nor unbalanced sound – aspect worth to be considered for bassheads.

For more demanding listeners, their punchy tuning can show a bit of bounciness and bleed – depending on the track.

A fine tailored EQ can boost the depth and response of it’s sub-bass introducing a more intense bass while keeping the overall bass under fair control.

Mids & Vocals

The Whizzer HE01 has a very warm midrange with cozy feel that extends from the lower mids to their upper mids.

Male vocals sound intimate but not distant and offer a full deep vocal sound. On the other hand, the very warm profile can show some mid-bass bleed or slight congestion when the upper end of the bass extension is intense and constant.

The mid and high end of the midrange shows a more emphasized feel than the lower midrange with a crispier sound and possible harshy peaks (subjectively tolerable) on shouty female vocals.

The Whizzer HE01 will be deeply enjoyed by listeners who prefer a warm and cozy midrange.

A custom EQ can easily fine tune their midrange providing a much cleaner lower mids response without boosting their upper harshness nor adding boxiness.

Highs & Treble

Highs on the Whizzer HE01 offer a fairly pleasant experience with a good balance of brightness and smoothness without drowning nor being short of detail.

It is fair to note that the HE01 exhibits a tuning that tends more to a balanced/versatile sound with a slight tint of darkness than to a clinical or analytical sound – users should not expect and overwhelmingly bright sound.

Regarding hot peaks, this Whizzer earphone does a very good job keeping piercing and sibilant peaks under control with rare spikes and only on extremely sibilant/piercing prone tracks.

Using an EQ, the brightness and detail of the HE01 can be, noticeably, enhanced. Moreover, all darkish leftovers will be wiped out.

Sound Leak

The leaking levels of the HE01 are slightly less intense than most average headphones but will not be as silent as the highest scoring models in this section.

We would not rate it as an earphone well adapted to be used exclusively in libraries but, surely it is a safely unit to be worn on any everyday situation without disturbing nearby people.

Sound Isolation

The deep and tight fit of the earpieces provide a stronger isolation than many average headphones with a noticeable reduction of the awareness of the noisy environment.

At the same time, absolute isolation can be reached by cranking up the volume of the music listening sessions.
