Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S, the newest over-ear Bluetooth headphone from Tronsmart.

Specifically, the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S is the new generation of the Q20 series with some similar and some upgraded features.

Inside, the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S is equipped with 40mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth v5.3 (with SBC and HiRes codec) and noise cancelling microphones that are used for either the Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling system and for noise cancelling phone calls.

The Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S is powered by a 500mAh battery capable of providing up to 60 hours of continuous playback time.

Throughout the years we have reviewed plenty of speakers from Tronsmart (Tronsmart Bang Max, Bang SE, Bang, Mirtune S100, Mirtune H1, T7, T7 Lite, Trip) but this is the first headphone from the brand that we are testing.

Bass & Sub Bass

The Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S have been, clearly, tuned for bass; with a strong mid-bass response and a good sub-bass coverage.

If your music sessions are centered around bass, you might like the sound signature of the Q20S; nonetheless, is worth highlighting that the lower frequencies of the Sounfii Q20S are evidently boosted, bouncy and loose.

Mids & Vocals

The midrange of the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S gets affected by the overly strong and loose mid-bass that bleeds over mids.

As a consequence of this, lower mids and male vocals will sound full but will suffer from congestion, struggling to battle the powerful bass.

While getting farther away from lower frequencies, the upper mids and female vocals start to get less overshadowed by bass, allowing a bit cleaner performance.

To the benefit of the Q20S, this qualities combined with a bit recessed mid-range tuning results in harshness-free peaks.

Highs & Treble

The very strong bass presence shows its effect over highs and treble ranges too, inheriting the similar style and results seeing on mids.

This means, that you can expect highs with a darkish personality and noticeable congestion.

Also, similar to the midrange, the upper frequencies do not tend to be fatiguing with only a bit of sibilance.

Sound Leak

The sound leaking out of the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S is more or less inline with most modern budget headphones.

This makes it acceptable for daily commuting if you are not particularly searching for private listening sessions.

Sound Isolation

With or without ANC turned on, the Q20S is still a better isolating headphone than most other average competitors.

When activating ANC, the Tronsmart Q20S showed a decisively more efficient cancellation of noises and isolation from the environment, with remarkably good performance.

On top of that, if paired with the mobile app, users have access to 5 level of ANC tuning, so you can set the desired intensity of the cancellation provided.

A Transparency Mode is included with the Q20S, offering a noise enhanced awareness while still wearing the headphones.

With its rotating and tilting earcups combined with an overall light-weighted core and sufficient padding; the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S become a full-sized over-ear headphone with good fit and comfortable experience for long running times.

Response to Equalization

The app for the Tronsmart Sounfii Q20S is the same as the one used for the speakers from the brand that we reviewed; offering also similar features and including 6 EQ presets (SoundPulse and custom EQ too)

When using an EQ, the headphones exhibited significant effect over the final sound flavor and characteristic without introducing too much degradation.
