The HUION Kamvas Slate 10 is an Android (OS 12 version installed) creative tablet from HUION with a pen capable of pressure and tilt sensing.
The front of the tablet presents a clean modern tablet look with thinner bezels than other competitors.
When turning the tablet around you will find a 13 megapixel AI camera and flash that protrude a bit from the back case; this section of the case has a nice looking pearled finish.
While on the front top bezel section there is a second 5 MP camera that comes handy for video calls.
On the left edge of the tablet you will find 3 physical buttons; one works as a power/screen on-off switch while the other 2 are volume buttons.
When looking at the other edge (right) you will notice a USB-C port for charging and accessories use, a hidden card slot and a classic 3.5mm stereo headphone connection.
On both edges (left and right) there is also one speaker per side behind a visible grid, as this tablet includes a dual stereo speakers system.
The included case does not only helps to protect the tablet but also allows it to be positioned at several different angles, which facilitates the improvement in the ergonomics and placement of the tablet according to the situation. This case has a closing flap with dedicated slot for the pen, so you ca carry the pen with you at all times and never lose it – this flap can hang over an cover the top panel section where the front camera is placed, though.
Of course, this is not the only tablet on the market with pen support but for this price you can hardly get a tablet with the reliability of pen pressure by HUION.

The display of the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 is a Full-HD+ screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 in a 16:10 layout.
As the name suggests, this is a tablet with a 10 inches screen (to be more precise 10.1″) but seeing the affordable price, you might be surprised discovering that this is a full-laminated IPS panel that can be also upgraded with an Anti-Glare film from factory (additional addon)
As expected by an Android mobile device, the screen is touch sensitive and allows up to 10 points of capacitive touch recognition.
The display shows excellent sharpness and definition with strong brightness reaching 260 cd/m2, that can be manually adjusted or set to automatically adapt to the lighting situation of the environment.
Thanks to the IPS panel tech, the screen presented perfect viewing angles without degradation of the image quality, while the gamut coverage of the tablet reaches up to 65% NTSC, 90% sRGB, 66% Adobe RGB.
To power all graphical tasks, the Kamvas Slate 10 is equipped with a Mali-G57 graphic chip.

The pen included and compatible with the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 is an active capacitive pen with a rechargeable battery inside that provides 4096 pen pressure levels.
This pen is model is named HS2000 and is unique to the Kamvas Slate 10, so you should be aware that if you intend to use your battery-less EMR pen from other pen displays or pen tablets from HUION, they will not be compatible.
Unlike what you see on many other mainstream mobile tablets with pen pressure, the pen from the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 does not need any cumbersome pairing process nor Bluetooth connection to work – similar to how other pen displays and pen tablets work, you just need to use the pen over the screen and it will immediately work and recognize the pen pressure and tilt inputs.
Of course, being this a battery powered pen, you will need to have sufficient battery charge to use it but the pen’s internal battery is rated to 45 hours of continuous use, so this will not be a matter to be too worried about.
The pen includes 2 buttons near the front tip, which functions can be personalized and reprogrammed but only with the HiPen app.
If we should point out something about the pen, would be that the dual buttons look and feel like a single button.

Being a full Android tablet, the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 inherits almost all connectivity options, like:

Connecting to any Wi-Fi network was always reliable with the HUION Kamvas Slate 10, showing also full output of the hotspot speeds without slowdowns – wireless networks compatibility include 802.11 b/g/n/ac.
Also, Bluetooth connection with accessories and peripherals were stable and never presented unexpected disconnection nor hiccups. Among the Bluetooth accessories tested, we tried TWS headphones, Bluetooth speakers, Amplifiers, BT keyboard and mice and also gamepads.

Right away when you hold the device with your hands you will notice that this is a rugged tablet, this is mostly thanks to the full-metal case that does not feel cheap like any plastic tablet – of course, this also translates into a heavier unit than other competitors.
Under the hood, the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 runs a full-fledged Android OS (version 12), empowered by an Unisoc Tiger T616 Octa-Core LTE (8-core CPU), 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of storage – with the possibility to expand it up to 512GB through a MicroSD card.
The MicroSD cards are inserted in a removable slot (like any smartphone), which you might see that has also a slot for SIM cards but this has been blocked by a plastic cover – this was made to avoid any confusion with users, as this tablet does not include a phone/SIM card module.
In addition to the nice construction of the tablet itself, the leather case bundled with the device feels on-par with the quality level of the tablet.
On the bottom edge of the Kamvas Slate 10 you will see a 5-pin connection port, this provides compatibility to use pluggable peripherals such as keyboards and keybs+mice combos.
Inside the Slate 10 carries a generous 6000mAh battery that is rated to provide 7 hours of continuous use under normal operation – recharges fully in 3.5 hours using the included 5V 2A USB charger.

We tested the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 with plenty of popular leading pen-compatible apps such as Sketchbook, ibisPaint X, MediBang Paint, Krita, Clip Studio, Nomad Sculpt, Concepts, OneNote.
Pressure & Tilt
The pen and sensor of the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 proved to be perfectly adapted to register natural dynamics of pen pressure for all tested tasks such as drawing, painting, sketching, note taking, photo editing.
Tilt was recognized without too much configuration on compatible mobile apps such as HiPen, allowing to input creative uses of tilt with design brushes to enrich the quality of drawings.
Pen pressure was also automatically recognized by productivity apps like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OneNote.
Palm Rejection
During all executed tests, the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 had no issues recognizing the pen activity and applying automatic palm rejection to avoid any undesired touch inputs.
Lag
When compared with some pen displays and pen tablets that we have reviewed, the HUION Kamvas Slate 10 will seem laggier when tracing fast lines but for everyday normal use and beginners, this lag will not be an issue and probably, for some, not even noticed.
Jitter
Jitter is a common “issue” of nearly any pen display and pen computer on the market and despite being this a beginners and kids pen computer/tablet with an affordable price, its jitter fell within the levels of other pen displays that we have reviewed.
Tracking / Parallax
When looking and tracking and parallax, the HUOIN Kamvas Slate 10 was surprisingly proficient, showing nearly perfect tracking and no parallax at all, with corner accuracy that even surpassed the performance of many pen displays reviewed so far.
