Mpow has been manufacturing over-ear headphones, in-ear headphones and speakers for awhile already, being the MPOW H12 part of the Holo H series (like the MPOW H17). In fact, Mpow offers two of the top 5 most sold headphones on Amazon, the MPOW Flame and the MPOW 059 which, apparently, have pleased many owners with nearly 25,000 Amazon reviews and an average score of 4.5 stars (on Amazon) – surpassing the number of reviews of the, once most sold headphone on Amazon, COWIN E7.
The surface of the whole unit has a sort of semi-rubberized feel and a matte finish. The cups are, also, made of the same material and finish but have a rounded metal plate on the back section – this metal plate is simply an aesthetic detail, it is not a button nor has any specific function.
The headphone is fully made of plastic besides the inner headband structure that is reinforced with metal. The headband extends at clicky steps that are marked on it’s metal surface with a scale that goes from 1 to 7 at half steps.
The MPOW H12 can also be found as MPOW BH366A, MPBH366AB and with its full name: MPOW H12 ANC Wireless Headphones.

The MPOW H12 comes with a micro USB charging cable, a 3.5mm stereo cable and a pouch made of a nice soft fabric.
The unit comes inside a red and black rectangular box that is particularly small for an over-ear headphone – this is because the headphone comes already folded inside the box.

Bass & Sub Bass
ANC Off
The MPOW H12 bass is very confident with an energetic listening session style.
Their mid-bass is very punchy and fun as to cover any modern track or genre without falling short, yet their sub-bass is less boosted and not as deep as would be expected with this amount of mid-bass.
In general, their sub-bass will still be able to fulfill most songs requirements and reaching sufficient depth as not to sound shallow nor give a feel of thinness to their overall bass.
With an EQ, their sub-bass can unleash a very deep sub-bass response and even provide some rumbling.

ANC On
With ANC turned On, their bass gains a more balanced sound. Their mid-bass will sound less-boosted without ruling over their whole lower frequencies while their sub-bass will gain more space.
In general, their bass will be much better distributed and cleaner for a more ample coverage of genres.

Mids & Vocals
ANC Off
The MPOW H12 have very warm, with gentle lower midrange and deep vocals but that will also exhibit a busy feel due to their laid back male vocals.
On the other hand, their mids become much more accentuated as long as they approach their higher end. In fact, their higher midrange and female vocals show a totally opposite tuning with a spicy tuning and risks of, even, getting a bit shouty at times – yet these are not harsh sounding headphones.
If being more picky, there is a hint of boxiness over their vocals that, in fact, limits their retuning potential with an EQ.

ANC On
Tuning On it’s ANC will show a strong retuning with a cleaner midrange feel. Mid-bass bleed will get less intense, reducing it’s congesting effect over their lower midrange, male vocals and also overall.
Users will have to expect a noticeable reduction of warmth over the mids and vocals of the Mpow H12.

Highs & Treble
ANC Off
The highs of the MPOW H12 have, clearly, a personality leaning more towards a dark and far from being bright.
In spite of this, their highs resolve a fair amount of detail in comparison to other darkish headphones.
Unfortunately, despite the rolled-off style, their highs do present sibilance with medium intensity. Yet, these wireless headphones do not suffer from piercing peaks.
An EQ can reveal an unexpected and massive retuning over their highs with a brighter and way more detailed sound without adding excessive fatiguing peaks.

ANC On
Similar to their mids, their highs show a strong personality modification with a much less congested sound.
Highs will benefit from a brighter and better distributed sound that gives a feel of a more open tuning and some additional detail retrieval.

Sound Leak
Unfortunately for people concerned about sound leakage on their headphones, the MPOW H12 showed a particularly strong leakage that was much more audible than many normal headphones.
Their sound will be clearly heard by anyone nearby when cranking the volume just a tad above moderate and could even become disturbing to nearby people in less-noisy situations when going full “party-mode” when dialing the volume all the way up.

Sound Isolation
The Mpow H12 are very efficient regarding passive isolation (without turning it’s ANC on), providing a much stronger isolation than most average headphones, right out of the box.
Active Noise Cancelling is remarkably efficient for a headphones with this crazy-low price tag and not as far performing from many big brands.
Nonetheless, the maximum measured noise cancelling potential of the MPOW H12 was -20dB, which despite being a very respectable one, it will not reach the amount of cancellation that industry leading ANC models can provide.
When activating it’s ANC the sound will briefly sound “odd” and then fully activate the ANC system (and apply the sound alterations described above)

Comfort
The MPOW H12 have oval-shaped, deep cups and earmuffs that are more or less inline with big brands such as some BOSE and SONY headphones.
The inner headband has a rubberized central area that is padded to reduce the upper head tension – the style looks and feels similar to beats headphones.
The cups movements include up to 45 degrees of tilt and 90+ degree of rotation that allows them to lay fully flat.
Moreover, the cups can be folded (through it’s metal hinge) to reduce the footprint of the headphone and allow an easier transportation.

Response to Equalization
The MPOW H12 showed a remarkably efficient response to EQ over their sub-bass, as well as over their highs and treble range but was not very responsive over their midrange and vocals.
