TRN T200 TWS
| 1x Balanced Armature | 1x Dynamic Driver | True Wireless | IPX5 waterproof |
🎧 We are reviewing the TRN T200 TWS, a true wireless earphone with high specs and friendly price.
The TRN T200 TWS features an hybrid dual driver configuration that includes 1x balanced armature driver + 1 dynamic driver; per side.
The market tendency has convinced many reputable ChiFi brands to get into the true wireless world, like the recent release of models such as:
The TRN T200, is TRN’s second attempt to enter the true wireless earphone’s market, preceded by the TRN T100, but this time the newer T200 offers apt-x compatibility with AAC and SBS audio codec support, Bluetooth 5.0 and a IPX5 waterproof rating.
The TRN T200 TWS is offered in one color option, a dark-colored design with a graphite pattern finish that results in a very nice looking case that looks like metal but it is actually made of plastic.
The earpiece share the same graphite finish on the inner section of the shells while the rear section is shiny black (this part is the touch sensitive section)

Tests & Scores
The TRN T200 TWS comes with a battery case, 3 pair of eartips and a micro USB charging cable.
The unit comes inside a square box that is nearly 30% wider than the packaging of other TRN earphones such as the TRN V90.

The TRN T200 offers advanced features such as:
- Touch controls
- CVC 8.0 noise cancelling mics for phone calls (not ANC)
- Qualcomm QCC3020 Bluetooth 5.0 chip
- IPX5 waterproof
- Modern lossless codecs support
Each of the earpieces of the TRN T200 has back plates that are touch sensitive, allowing all the basic music and call controls to be handled from these touch areas:
- 2 taps: Play/pause
- 3 taps left earpiece: Next track
- 3 taps right earpiece: Previous track
- Press and hold for 2 seconds: Activates Siri or voice commands.
- Long press left earpiece
Volume Down Button:
- Long press right earpiece
- 2 taps: Answer/end call
- A 1 second press and hold: During incoming call, reject call
LED Status Light: The TRN T200 has in total 3 tiny lights that inform the status of the device. One is placed on the back of the charging case, near the USB port while the remaining lights are placed on each earpiece.
Charging: The TRN T200 gets charged by placing it in it’s charging case. This case can charge the units on-the-go and/or while being connected to an USB power supply.
The case of the TRN T200 is also a battery pack with it’s own rechargeable battery, which carries a capacity of 600mAh while each earpiece is equipped with 50mAh batteries.
The brand estimates a total running time of 6:30 hours to 7 hours of continuous use, plus the additional full cycle charges that can be added with the case/battery pack and 180 hours of standby time. The brand recommends to charge the unit with a power supply capable of outputting 5V 1A; which should charge the earpieces and/or the case in 1:30 hours.
The TRN T200 TWS has a noticeably fast bass response but does not suffer from lack of depth like many other fast earphones. Instead, the sub-bass of the TRN T200 is crazy deep while not drowning the rest of the sound.
Moreover, mid-bass can respond with a punchy and impacting profile without getting boomy nor bouncy, at all.
The overall bass on the TRN T200 is very special with an admirably refined tuning that results in a much tighter bass response than nearly any other true wireless headphone on the market and than many budget wired in-ear monitors.
With an EQ, the deep sub-bass of the TRN T200 can be pushed into an insanely deep response.
It is fair to highlight that our first unit of the TRN T200 had a defective dynamic driver on one earpiece while the 2nd unit showed perfectly working drivers and performance. You can see the effect of the defective driver of our 1st unit on the measurements later on this TRN T200 review.

The midrange of the TRN T200 presents a remarkably clean sound with almost no mid-bass bleed at all and no congestion issues – and as with it’s bass, this is not only in comparison with most true wireless on the market but, as well, in comparison with most/many wired earphones.
Users should expect male vocals and lower mids that will never sound busy nor be overpowered by bass.
When reaching the upper end of the midrange, their higher mids will show a crisp and clear sound but can risk to become somewhat harshy with strong peaks or shouty vocals – though technically, this happens when these notes/peaks are placed on the highs/treble ranges.
If done carefully, the TRN T200 can be fine-tuned with an EQ to provide an impeccably clean output with no minimum traces of mid-bass bleed and a spicier but not harsher profile. Nonetheless, we would not recommend to use any EQ to most users.
The TRN T200 TWS is a bright sounding earphone, with no muffled nor muddy sound on any frequency range.
The bold noticeable brightness on the TRN T200 might give a feel of overpowering their detail retrieval potential; in simpler words: it could be said that the TRN T200 tends to be brighter than being detailed.
On the other hand, as with many earphones with emphasized highs and treble, the TRN T200 can become a particularly sibilant earphone.
The highs of the T200 should certainly not be boosted with an EQ. In any case, an EQ can be applied to try to sedate the sibilant peaks and this TRN TWS will achieve to reduce part of them but never absolutely cancel them.
The sound leaking out of the T200 is inline with most average earphones, making it hearable by nearby people on less-noisy situations or when cranking up the volume of your music listening sessions.

The sound isolation provided by the TRN T200 TWS is fairly efficient, allowing a partially subdued perception of the environment without the need of getting the volume setting too high.

The TRN T200 TWS is a very comfortable true wireless in-ear headphone to wear due to it’s light weight and secure fit.
The comfort provided by this model is also because of the curved forms and a custom IEM-alike form factor that ensure a very firm fit.
The case of the TRN T200 has a pill form factor that is more inline with the QCY T2C, QCY T3, 1MORE Stylish TWS, HUAWEI Honor TWS and EarFun FREE than to the smaller cases of the MEIZU POP2, Xiaomi Redmi Airdots, Xiaomi Mi Airdots Basic.

The response to EQ of the TRN T200 TWS was remarkable over their midrange and bass with strong retuning potential but less efficient over their highs.
