KZ E10 TWS
| 4x Balanced Armature | 10mm Dynamic Driver | True Wireless |
🎧 We are reviewing the KZ E10 TWS, the newest and currently only non-discontinued true wireless headphone from KZ.
The KZ E10 TWS is the second attempt from KZ to create a true wireless earphone but this time featuring a penta-driver hybrid configuration and a hook design – the previously most recent penta-driver model from the brand is the KZ ZS10 PRO.
Each earpiece is equipped with 1x 10mm double magnetic dynamic driver, 2x 30095 balanced armature drivers and 2x 50060 BA. In additions to this, this model carries a Qualcomm QCC3020 chip with Bluetooth 5.0 tech.
The dynamic driver will be responsible for reproducing bass frequencies while the two 50060 BA will take care of midrange frequencies and the remaining 2x 30095 BA will handle their highs and treble.
You can buy the KZ E10 TWS in:
In our opinion the black model looks less-fancy than the grey or white models.

KZ E10 TWS Review
Tests & Scores
The KZ E10 TWS comes with 3 pair of eartips, a USB Type-C charging cable and the battery case/battery pack.
This time the brand ditched the metal case of their first true wireless headphone and replaced it with a larger plastic one.
The packaging of the KZ E10 is also different than recent models and sharing a resemblance with the packaging of old-school classics from the brand such as the:
KZ E10 TWS weight in Ounces and KZ E10 TWS weight in grams.

The KZ E10 TWS seems to have taken the opposite construction path of the KZ T1. This time the brand invested in creating better built earpieces but saved on the case build.
The KZ E10 housings have a combination of 4 materials used; the main shell is made of resin with a zinc alloy back plate, aluminum nozzles and hooks ends and rubberized, silicone hooks.
The hook end that attaches to the housings look nearly identical to the classic angled connector from KZ earphones but the brand has designed this true wireless earphone with fixed connections and non-detachable hooks/cables
The case is all build in plastics and, unfortunately, feels a bit cheap and a step down from the all-metal case of the older and discontinued KZ T1.
The KZ E10 TWS features include advanced options such as:
- Touch sensitive controls
- Dual noise cancelling CVC+DSP mics for phone calls
- APTX compatibility
The back plates of the KZ E10 TWS are touch sensitive and can fully operate the unit:
- A single press: Play, Pause music
- Turned ON and while in standby with no music or call: Press and hold activates Siri or voice commands.
- Press and hold (right): Skip to next song
- Press and hold (left): Previous song
- 3x Press: Redial
- 1x Press: Answer/end call
- Press and hold: During incoming call, reject call
Pairing: A less-intuitive pairing system has been incorporated to the KZ E10 which will make many users think that their earphone might not work. Different than most true wireless earphones on the market, the KZ E10 requires to press and hold a small button placed on the inner case to set the unit in pairing mode.
LED Status Light: Both the earpieces and the case have small lights that indicate the status of the device. Each earpiece has it’s own individual lights while the case has 2 lights, one inside the case and another one outside, right next to the charging port.
Charging: The KZ E10 earpieces are charged by placing them on the battery pack. This pack can provide OTG charges thanks to it’s internal 1100mAh battery or can also work as a charging station for the earpieces when the case is connected to a wall charger through the USB Type-C port.
Battery Life: The KZ E10 TWS is rated to provide 3 to 5 hours of battery life while the case will add additional full charged on the go. The earpieces full charging time is 2.5 hours while the case itself takes around 4 hours to fully charge.
The brand does not specifies the amount of additional charges provided by the case but according to the rated capacity of the batteries (30mAh per earpiece and 1100mAh on the case), the case should provide around a dozen full charges on-the-go, which could in ideal conditions translate into crazy total hours.
A frequent issue (at least our unit) that is fair to highlight were the hiccups and signal loss that happened several times during our tests.
Bass on the KZ E10 is fun and energetic, with a punchy mid-bass profile and sub-bass capable of responding with the right amount of depth.
This means that the bass tuning on the KZ E10 will be able to provide an entertaining and full bass response but will not be as overpowering as basshead earphones nor will step over the rest of the sound signature.
Listeners should expect a bass tuning cleaner and different than many budget true wireless headphones.
Applying an EQ to enhance their bass intensity will show modest results over both mid-bass punch and sub-bass depth but no groundbreaking makeover.

The multi-drivers inside the KZ E10 are able to provide male vocals that are very present and not laid-back nor distant.
Lower mids do not exhibit much mid-bass bleed nor congestion, resulting in a clean midrange profile.
Higher mids are very crisp but can risk to show shouty vocals and some harshness when tracks show intense peaks in these ranges.
Overall, their midrange will be energetic and spicy with a general clean lower midrange.
An EQ can be applied to try to smooth out some of their peaks or to fine tune them but we found the task to be much more demanding than on most earphones that we have reviewed and, yet showing a tinny and boxy sound introduction and not much reduction over harshness.
Highs on the KZ E10 are bright and capable of resolving a very good amount of detail.
Being so, their highs and treble can also risk to become forward at times and exhibit piercing and sibilant peaks.
Oppositely to the market’s tendency with true wireless earphones, the KZ E10 shows a much brighter, cleaner and more detailed sound with a highs tuning more inline with wired multi-driver models than true wireless earphones.
Using an EQ, their dedicated balanced armatures can be pushed to reveal their true potential over brightness and detail retrieval, showing a massive improvement but also much more fatigue-intense peaks
This KZ true wireless headphone leaks substantially louder sound than many normal earphones. At moderate volume levels, their leakage will not be an issue during daily commuting but when cranking up the volume, they could become fairly audible by nearby people in less-noisy situations.

The sound isolation of the E10 TWS is substantially stronger than average headphones, with immediate partial isolation from the environment.

The earpieces of the KZ E10 TWS have a classic form factor seen on many modern IEM and from many KZ earphones as well – even very similar to the already discontinued KZ T1.
The hook/loop style on headphones with a true wireless design is not the most typical and, in fact, was part of the early form factors adopted by some brands manufacturing true wireless earphones but later replaced by many users preferring the classic earphone or earbud shape over the hook styled.
Nonetheless, the recent launch of the beats Powerbeats Pro might have tempted brands to retry to see the market’s response to this hook TWS designs.
Long time ago we reviewed other true wireless earphones (like the Alpha & Delta JAAP) and we found that the earhook TWS design to be comfortable and better than normal TWS.
The KZ E10, indeed, is no exception to this; their fit and comfort is outstanding with their soft, silicone hooks combined with the custom IEM styled housings – the only issue is that the metal “tube” end on the hooks can get cold on the winter season.

The KZ E10 TWS showed great potential adding brightness and detail but nearly no improvement over their midrange and fair but not groundbreaking bass boosting.
