? Siroflo BH-01, a very affordable Bluetooth earphone with an insane waterproof rating of IP67.

The Siroflo BH-01 features a single dynamic driver with Bluetooth v4.1 connection, a fully dustproof enclosure and a waterproof rating capable of handling the most adverse weather conditions.

The housings offer nice ergonomics and secure fit with a design inspiration on Beats models like the Beats Powerbeats2 – that we have reviewed some time ago. Even the recently released, premium, Bang & Olufsen Earset makes use of a similar housings+wing ergonomics and design.

The housings are fully built in plastics and result in an overall light weight. The back section of the housings hold a rounded metal back plate with a red ring that gives a nice finish detail. The one placed on the right earpiece is also a multi-function button.

Each earpiece is connected to each other by a flat, very rubberized and sturdy cable.

Advanced Features

Besides offering Bluetooth wireless connection, the strongest advanced feature of the Siroflo BH-01 is their crazy IP67 water and dust proof rating.

You might wonder why we say “crazy”. An IP67 rating is one of the highest ratings for solids/dust and liquids/waterproof enclosure’s protection and if they truly withstand the IP67 rating they should be usable for water immersion up to 1 meter, for a maximum of 30 minutes (standardized IP67 rating) but we have not tested if they stand water immersion – Siroflo explicitly assures safe use under rain.

Operation & Control

The buttons on the Siroflo BH-01 allows you to do the following:

MF Button:

A 4 second press and hold: Power On
An 8 second press and hold: Set to pairing mode
A single press: Play, Pause music or Answer calls
4 second press and hold while turned ON: Power off

Volume UP Button:

A single press: Volume up by 1 level
A 1 second press and hold: Previous song

Volume Down Button:

A single press: Volume down by 1 level
A 1 second press and hold: Skip to next song

Calls Commands:

2x Press of Middle Button: Redial
1 second press and hold of Volume down button: Mute/un-mute call
A short press of Middle Button: During incoming call, answer call
A 2 second press of Middle Button: During incoming call, reject call

LED Status Light: The Siroflo BH-01 have a very small LED light that is placed in the back part of the right earpiece. This LED will inform you the status of the earphone by changing color or alternating it.

Charging: On the bottom of the right earpiece you will find the charging micro USB port covered by a rubberized cap. The Siroflo BH-01 can be charged by plugging them through their micro USB port, a full charge takes between 1.5 hours and 2 hours.

Bass & Sub Bass

The Siroflo BH-01 is a very energetic bassy earphone with a lot of punch and depth. Their bass will cover any bass-hungry track without lacking bass response. If you like powerful bass or are looking for a fun sounding companion to pump your training sessions, their bass might match your preferences.

Applying an EQ there is a noticeable increment of punch and a strong sub-bass deepening.

Mids & Vocals

The Siroflo BH-01 have very warm mids, noticeable mid-bass bleed that makes their lower vocals a bit congested but lower vocals do not sound distant or laid back, instead they sound alive and energetic enough. Higher mids offer sufficient crispness but have a tendency to a recessed style instead of a crisp and clear one.

With an EQ, vocals clear up significantly and congestion is reduced, their overall sound style is still similar, though.

Highs & Treble

The Siroflo BH-01 highs are dark and barely resolve any detail but still, overall, are not un-listenable. Of course, do not expect an audiophile tuning out of them (they are not meant to be so). Something that you will never hear with these are fatiguing highs, no piercing nor sibilant highs are ever present.

An EQ makes highs sound less muffled and a bit more open but still never piercing or sibilant; overall much better while always sounding dark.

Sound Leak

The sound that leaks out of them is a bit higher than many average earphones but not outrageously strong. As a reference, this is not a smart choice for library usage but will not present any issues for normal city situations or at the gym.

Sound Isolation

Noise isolation of the Siroflo BH-01 is fairly efficient, they will provide a partial isolation from your surroundings that will be marginally stronger than many average earphones but expect some awareness instead of a total isolation – awareness is a very useful feature for runners and to whom requires some perception of the surroundings.

Comfort

The Siroflo BH-01 have a highly comfortable and secure fit that makes them a superb sport companion. Moreover, their flexible, rubberized, fixed wings provide a perfect fit around the ears.

Adding the fact that they have dedicated volume buttons makes them a capable daily earphone. The volume buttons are placed on the top of the right earpiece and are always a greatly appreciated feature to manage your listening sessions on-the-fly.

Response to Equalization

The Siroflo BH-01 showed strong response and noticeable improvement on mids and vocals; bass got clearly stronger and deeper and highs leveled up their sound but remained always dark.
