B
Bass & Sub Bass
Usually an earphone with such a small dynamic driver (6mm) cannot be expected to be the bassiest iem you can buy. Mid bass of the UiiSii Hi-705 is punchy for a microdriver earphone and can add enough energy for any type of music; as well sub-bass has enough depth.
bass of the UiiSii Hi-705
is not for bassheads, but bass is still not badly achieved
For sure the bass of the UiiSii Hi-705 is not for bassheads, but bass is still not badly achieved, it is not too boomy or invasive and adds a bit of warmth. Though trying to equalize does not bring up much depth or punchiness, it adds some more energy to the overall bass presence.

Connected to a Fiio E12 amplifier set to high gain and bass boost switched on, we applied a custom basshead equalization and the UiiSii Hi-705 was able to handle a very respectable 42% of Fiio’s maximum power. Bass got emphasized noticeably in comparison to the unamped bass performance however, no impact or rumble can be expected. Sub-bass impact and rumble is much lower than what the Remax RM-565i (which is also a 6mm microdriver earphone) can achieve under the same circumstances.

M
Mids & Vocals
Mids are recessed mostly on the lower and middle mid frequencies, not extremely though as to sound muddy and are never fatiguing nor harsh. Mids and vocals may sound too laid back for some and slightly distant or lacking a bit of energy. Equalizing can emphasize mids and vocals bringing them more forward, adding energy and warmth without any boxy or harsh sound.

H
Highs & Treble
The highs of the UiiSii Hi-705 are mildly recessed with no sibilant or piercing sound. Highs do not get completely lost, are still present but lack detail. Highs can be equalized to brighten up and bring highs forward without introducing any piercing sound or sibilance.

SL
Sound Leak
The sound that leaks out of these earphones is fairly audible. It might not be the best choice if planning to use it at high volumes on places where quietness is required.

SI
Sound Isolation
The UiiSii reduce ambient noise averagely, having such a tiny housing there is little physical area coverage of the ear which might be one of the reasons why they are not highly proficient at isolation from outside noise.
6.75/10
C
Comfort
The UiiSii Hi-705 have a lovely small size, similar to the Remax RM-565i, Sony MH1 Livesound, KZ HDS3 but sensibly lighter. Fit is great and being so small and light they are extremely comfortable and easy to wear for very long time without any fatigue.
9.5/10

EQ
Response to Equalization
Bass and sub-bass can be dialed up to emphasize some of the bass response and the UiiSii will respond fairly, bass will get deeper and general warmth will be gained and at the same time mid-bass will not leak into mid frequencies. Lower mids and middle mids can be pushed to become more lively, energetic and less distant without introducing boxy or harsh sound even if highly bumping the dB (decibels). Highs respond very well, as with middle frequencies, they can be pushed a lot. Highs will brighten up noticeably and no sibilant or piercing sound will be brought alive.
The Hi-705 response to custom equalization is very good and the overall flattish sound signature can be emphasized across any frequency to fine tune it to your preference.
The Hi-705 response to custom equalization is very good and the overall flattish sound signature can be emphasized across any frequency to fine tune it to your preference. For example, a W-shaped equalization helps the UiiSii Hi-705 have a much more fun sounding style with punchier lows, warmer vocals, more forward middle mids and vocals and brighter highs.
